Connect QR Menus, Tablets, and Kiosks to iiko POS
Gravy integrates with iiko POS to add digital ordering channels while keeping restaurant operations managed inside the POS. Orders placed through QR Menu, QR Kiosk, Tablet Menu, and Tablet Kiosk are automatically sent to iiko, where they appear as regular POS orders.
This means restaurant staff continue working in the familiar POS environment while guests can browse menus, place orders, and complete payments through digital ordering interfaces. Kitchen routing, receipts, and operational workflows remain fully controlled by the POS.
By connecting Gravy with iiko, restaurants can introduce digital ordering without replacing their POS system or changing how the kitchen and service teams operate.
How the iiko POS Integration Works
The integration between Gravy and iiko is designed to keep the POS system at the center of restaurant operations while extending the restaurant with new digital ordering channels.
When a guest places an order through one of the Gravy interfaces, the order is transmitted directly to iiko and processed using the POS system’s existing logic for order management and kitchen routing.
A typical order flow within the iiko integration includes the following steps:
- A guest scans a QR code or places an order through a tablet interface.
- Gravy sends the order to the iiko POS.
- The POS creates a new order and routes it to the kitchen.
- The restaurant prepares and fulfills the order through its normal workflow.
This approach lets restaurants add digital ordering while keeping operational control inside iiko. Orders stay synchronized and follow the same preparation workflow as staff-created orders.
Menu and Item Availability Synchronization
Gravy can synchronize restaurant menus directly from iiko, ensuring that the digital ordering interfaces always reflect the current menu structure defined in the POS system.
Menu structure, item availability, and other changes can be automatically reflected in the digital ordering interface. This allows restaurants to maintain consistent menus across POS and digital channels while avoiding manual updates.
If a dish becomes unavailable in iiko, it can automatically disappear from QR menus and kiosk interfaces through real-time menu updates. This helps restaurants prevent unavailable items from being ordered and ensures that guests only see products currently available in the kitchen.
Digital ordering interfaces can also be adapted to the venue’s workflow, branding, and service model through features such as Brand Customization.
Extending iiko POS with Digital Ordering Channels
While iiko provides powerful restaurant management and POS functionality, many restaurants look for ways to introduce guest-facing digital ordering channels. Gravy complements the POS by providing these customer-facing ordering experiences.
Restaurants can deploy multiple ordering formats depending on the venue format and service style:
- QR Menu for phone-based ordering at tables
- QR Kiosk for fast takeaway ordering
- Tablet Menu for device-based browsing and ordering
- Tablet Kiosk for self-service ordering stations
These digital channels allow restaurants to increase order capacity, reduce queues, and offer guests faster service without increasing staff workload. All orders remain connected to the POS through smart order routing and are handled by the kitchen using the existing preparation workflows.
