Accept Payments with CloudPayments
The CloudPayments integration with Gravy allows restaurants to accept secure online payments directly within the digital ordering experience. Guests can complete payments when ordering through QR menus, QR kiosks, tablet menus, or tablet kiosks, while transactions are processed through the CloudPayments payment gateway.
Gravy initiates the payment during checkout, while CloudPayments securely processes the transaction and communicates with the relevant card networks or issuing banks. Funds are transferred directly to the restaurant’s merchant account, without Gravy acting as a financial intermediary.
Supporting Payment Methods Common in Russia and CIS
Through CloudPayments, restaurants using Gravy can support a wide range of payment methods widely used in Russia and CIS markets.
Supported payment options include:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- MIR
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- T-Pay
- SberPay
- Mir Pay
- SBP (Fast Payment System)
This allows restaurants to provide guests with familiar local payment methods when placing orders through digital ordering interfaces.
Embedded Payment Widget for Mobile Ordering
One of the key differences of the CloudPayments integration is the embedded payment widget, which allows guests to complete payments directly inside the Gravy ordering interface.
For mobile ordering channels such as QR Menu and QR Kiosk, the CloudPayments payment widget opens inside the Gravy web application. Guests can enter card details or choose a supported digital wallet without leaving the ordering page.
This embedded payment experience helps keep the checkout process smooth and reduces friction during mobile ordering.
QR-Based Payments for Tablet Ordering
For tablet-based ordering channels, the payment flow is designed slightly differently.
When guests place orders through Tablet Menu or Tablet Kiosk, the tablet displays a QR code for payment. Guests scan the QR code with their phone and complete the payment on a secure CloudPayments payment page.
This approach allows restaurants to support secure online payments even when tablets themselves are not used for entering payment details.
Reliable Payment Workflow for Restaurant Orders
The payment workflow between Gravy and CloudPayments is designed to match the operational flow of restaurant orders.
- A guest places an order through a Gravy ordering interface.
- Gravy initiates the payment through the CloudPayments gateway.
- The payment is processed and approved by the card network or issuing bank.
- The order is created in Gravy and marked as paid.
- The paid order is sent to the restaurant’s POS system.
If the POS system rejects the order or the POS integration is temporarily unavailable, Gravy automatically initiates a payment cancellation or refund through CloudPayments and notifies the guest.
